Mother had never looked so tired as to lie on the kang after doing some homework. Yesterday she caught cold when taking a nap for not covering herself well. In the evening I found her sneezing with a running nose. She had a poor appetite and retired for the night without washing her feet. It was nearly 9 o'clock pm when I left mother's. This time I took a devious route by the main street in the hope of finding some drugstore still open. The one next to the gate of No 4 Middle School was the only pharmacy that had not been closed. This was the first time I have been there to buy medicine. And I could only pay in cash rather than by credit card because no card reader was available. Then I returned to mother with the medicine which was urgently needed. Now her influenza has been under control. The other day the sprain in her left side recurred. She endured the agony until first elder sister's departure. She asked me to buy her some ointment and tablets for stimulating blood circulation and relaxing muscles and joints. It seemed they didn't work as she told me she felt it's getting worse today. I repeatedly advised her to have a good rest and continue to take the medicine. She owed her sickness to idleness in the period when she accompanied first elder sister. She complained that if first sister hadn’t been here, she would have dismantled the stacked cornstalks for drying the bundles out and detaching the leaves from some stalks. I think it true.
