It was
nearly seven o'clock
when I woke up this morning. Pulling the curtain aside, I saw it was raining hard
outside as forecast yesterday. People were going out to different destinations
under umbrellas or without any protection against the weather. I walked into
the rain with a thick jacket covering my head and shoulders. It was obvious
that I couldn't go to school by bike. I had a class to conduct at the second
period. So I must take the 7：30
bus to work. But I only had half an hour left. First I planned to go straight
to the bus station cancelling my breakfast at mother's. This could guarantee me taking the bus. However,
it would make mother worry for me because of my absence. Although I could phone
brother having him tell mother, I hate to trouble him in such bad weather. Therefore
I adopted the second plan to hasten to mother and then catch the bus. It took too
much time for me to cover the distance owing to my unhealed toe and the muddy
path. As I reached mother's, I knew it was impossible to catch the bus for
only ten minutes were left. Mother reproved me for getting up so late. Seeing
my clothes and shoes dampened and the rain on, finally I decided not to work.
