Mr. Shao is a real character. He is the only person I have found among my colleagues for so many years who enjoys reading ancient Chinese classics. He also likes to plough through some Buddhist scriptures. I often saw him sitting cross-legged in meditation like a Buddhist monk. He couldn't tolerate the smokers in our office and has moved to another office. Recently he began to abstain religiously from flesh and fish. He refused to eat the free dish cooked with meat at school. Instead, he took some vegetables from home for lunch. He feared to be stricken with cerebral thrombosis for having too much meat.
