The forecast rain was heard before dawn and continued after eight o’clock in the morning. For a few minutes the raindrops turned into large snowflakes but disappeared as they reached the ground. I had to decide to take the 9：00 bus to school. Soon after I got on it a few schoolchildren also went aboard; among them I found a boy dressed in the yellow uniform of the Central School who had been dismissed and on his way home for the rain had cut short the sports meeting jointly organized by the Central School and the No. 4 Middle School. Seeing this, I got off the bus immediately and thought it unnecessary to go to school. But to make sure of the situation, I called our headmaster, who told me no change of our agenda for new order had not been received from above. So I went to school by bus at last. We knocked off nearly 3 o’clock, one and a half hours before the last bus back was due. The intervening time was long enough for me to walk back.
