It was hazy and cloudy earlier today. Then the ground was moistened by unseen drizzle. The forecast shower came down as I left my apartment for mother’s bungalow towards 4 p.m. It began to rain hard when I reached our house. I saw mother was still busy sorting things out in the yard. The back of the light coat on her had been dampened. I had to yell at her to retreat immediately. It was a good rain, which could not only clean the dirty air but also diminish the possibility of fire in such a dry season when piles of corn stalks mushroom near the rural residential areas.
