Having lived in northeast for thirty－five years, I still talk with mother with the accent of our native village at home. After so long a time leaving our homeland and communicating with our new neighbors and the inhabitants here, we’ve forgotten many of our dialect words in Hebei. The other day we happened to watch a program called I’d like to invent on the science and educational channel of CCTV when I found the inventor in the documentary was just living in the Raoyangxian county on the north of our former county. Some local craftsmen who challenged his machine making sweet potato starch jelly spoke with a similar accent of ours, which reminded me of some words we used to say in the good old days.
