The other day I happened to be attracted by an item of TV news. The people involved set a good example for the public. One night a jeweler found a bracelet missing in her shop. Later with the help of the videos recorded by the camera installed, two suspects came into her view. They were two women, a young lady and her mother, who visited the jewelry shop earlier that evening. First, the daughter tried on the bracelet. Then she asked to see some other articles of jewelry. But she bought nothing before windowshopping around and leaving with the jewel on her wrist. The precious jewel worth over ten thousand yuan should have escaped the notice of the shopkeeper when it was carried away without being paid. Instead of reporting it to the police as advised, the jeweler chose to wait patiently for the lady returning the jewel. Two days later the mother brought the bracelet back to the shop with a sincere apology on behalf of her daughter and herself. She said no sooner had her daughter got home that day than she made a guilty discovery. If it hadn’t been for some matter in hand, the jewel wouldn’t have been returned so late.

In my opinion, the daughter may take the bracelet deliberately, when her mother found the bracelet, she must be very angry and return it immediately. Otherwise,I can't explain below doubt. Why did the mother return the bracelet two days later, she should understand taking things without paying means stealing, shouldn't she return the bracelet on the same day,or the next day morning?

I think the daughter should take the bracelet unintentionally. She may take no notice of the bracelet on her waist .while she went away. However, she was supposed to be aware  that  she took away the bracelet without being paid. But she concealed the fact to her daughter. One day or two days later ,the daughter confessed or her mother found the fact .

Although there are some doubts, but what matters was that the mother really returned the bracelet on her own initiative. She could have kept it. Returning it could also be a risk too as she won't know the owners reaction. She may be influenced by her own conscience. Any person with conscience and self respect is a worthy person.

It is a sincere story that in it both of the jeweler and family can trust each other from heart.Maybe the jeweler belief that the daughter is just careless to forget return the jewel and the mother will make sure her daughter won't do the wrong thing. No matter for what reason the customer and the jeweler can give the basic respect to each other and receive good result, that's lucky to all of them.
