Mother never idles away her time. She always occupies herself with something. One day she saw Ms Zhang planting some dry Chinese onions. She followed suit as soon as she got back. On and off she fetched three basins of soil from the field bordering our backyard. Then she chose the small dry onions harvested in autumn and planted them in the basins in turn. She laid them in her warm bedroom. Now we have been eating the green tender leaves for days which have shot forth in the first two basins. These onions are quite different from those growing in early spring. Although both kinds are planted in basins indoors, these are soft, tender and light green；those are strong, hard, hot and dark green. Perhaps it is because those can enjoy more sunlight occasionally outdoors and higher daily temperature.
