The best time of the day is around noon when we can enjoy warm and bright sunlight both in our flat and bungalow. After 9 am I went to second elder sister’s to see son, who just came back spending his holiday there. Sister’s flat is on the third floor, half curtained in spite of sunlight being blocked by the tower block in front. I stayed in the sitting room feeling no warmth with my eiderdown－padded jacket on. Soon back in my apartment I saw the sun streaming into the rooms through the windows facing south. I felt too warm to wear my jacket. Then I decided to take a bath in my bedroom. As I got to mother’s bungalow the sunlight had flooded into her bedroom and the slanting rays even reached the innermost edge of the kang. I would feel guilty if I didn’t read or write there and then, for the good time passes by quickly.
