Like man nature needs a rest.
In winter she is to enjoy best.
Now we all have a warm nest.
No one has reasons to detest.

Father, mother and wife all died.
Son lives far, seldom at my side.
Soon will come winter and snow.
I alone seal every north window.

I have been there twice in vain.
The money is very hard to gain.
And I am waiting for her phone.
Time is uncertain and unknown.
