Our protagonist ‘s name is Frank. He’s a Chinese. Frank is the name he uses in his English class, also this is an English article, using an English name is merely an convenience.

Frank wants to be an adamant man who can accomplish everything once he set up his mind. In his imagination, he is a hero in battle field, an elite in a multinational corporation, a prince loved by young pretty girls. His mind is always saturated by these unrealistic fantasy. “Many people has this kind of imagination, I’m just one of them. The people who mock at me are no better than me. ” Frank thinks.

Year after year, Frank keep these image in his mind and he becomes a lazy, unpractical young man. It’s uncanny for a young man like him can go to college merely on his own effort. But he did it, he went to college, although not a very excellent college, he could have another 4 years to waste, how lucky was that. You really can’t say god is treating  him bad, but time will prove that college is not a good option for most young people.

College life was great. You don’t need to pay any attention in the class, because even though you focus on the lecture, you still can’t learn anything. The lectures are bullshit, the textbooks are bullshit, there is no way you can study pragmatic skills in college. But he wanted to be adept at his major. He wanted to be a professional software engineer. So he tried to read the textbooks, tried to understand all the concept. But the college textbooks are so  boring, they are no different from the negligible textbooks in high schools. Frank never read textbooks in high school. Not only because he didn’t need to, but also even the teacher didn’t recommend them to read. “But at least you can still learn something in high school, ” Frank thought, “The teachers always force you to learn and they know the practical way of studying : By practicing (homework) again and again!”

There are indeed practical ways to improve a person’s programming skills or way to study. Such as write a small software. But without any external force, Frank just couldn’t calm his mind and focus on practicing. Because of the pirated games software always distracted him. They are all of fun, unlike sports which consume you lots of energy, and most importantly, they are free! Frank put most of his time on the video games in his first semester. Even though Frank knew playing video games cost lots of time and it’s very hard to come back from games to study, he still digressed every time when he made up his mind on study.

Success always concur with consistent hardworking. “That’s why I failed in college. Being weak and inconsistency.” Frank thought.
