No one can know what kind of person you really are except for yourself. Maybe you can prove yourself in public, but you are never able to prove yourself in your heart. I got to know this kind of philosophical truth when I was in primary school, at grade 2. Quite young, isn’t it? But I think, it is this saying from my mother that teaches me how to be a decent person.

It was in summer, I think. My mum used to have a beautiful notebook with a lot of famous proverbs on it. One day when I was reading something like “maybe others don’t know you have done wrong but you'll get your conscience smitten sooner or later”. At that time I was quite confused when I first read this, and asked mum its meaning. After mum had explained it to me, I suddenly gave a loud cry. My mum was really shocked by me and asked me why I was crying. I said, I have done something wrong, I always ask 1 yuan from her as book fees or something else which was actually 8 jiao. Then I would use the money and buy some lovely stationery. I used to appreciate those things in the afternoon every Tuesday. I thought I was not a good girl any more. Finally, I was comforted by mum who was not angry at all. Although what I done at that times was just a piece of cake, I still learned a lot from that event.

In my point of views, all the people don’t want to live with heavy loads. However, the heaviest burden is not the lack of money but the pangs of remorse at the thought of his faults.
