Thanks for your patience--my life as an intern

1547 views. 2011-3-30 10:01 |Individual Classification:life|

Dear my net friends

Long time no see, how is everybody?

I really want to come here everyday and communicate with all the English lovers here, but it seems that there is always a huge disparity between dream and reality. Maybe this is what we call LIFE.

I’ve been an intern in a foreign company for almost two months, and my title is sales assistant. There are altogether six people in the sales department, with four specialize in the domestic market and another two in the foreign market, I, am one of the latter. They are all doing very well and correspondingly very busy everyday. They have numerous calls to answer, numerous e-mails to reply, and they have to arrange the delivery. They are really busy!

However, I am relatively free compared with them. Since I am a new comer here, I don’t have the calls, the e-mails, let alone the delivery. My duty everyday is to get familiar with the products and post message on the B2B platform, and occasionally when there are foreign customers here and my manager is busy, I will be pushed onto the frontline and act as a translator.

A few days ago, one of my newly-coming colleagues asked me how many business deals have you got? I smiled and said none, and he continues how long have you been here? I answered about 40 days, and he said take it easy and pat my shoulders and go away. That night, though lay in bed, I can’t fall in sleep. I always think that I’m a new comer here and it is natural that I won’t have the business so soon, but his words make me feel that I’m so incapable.

Am I?

Of course no! definately! everyone grows up from one that with no special skills, let alone in society like in one company. everyone need time and energy to be more mature, who can tell u he can do with issues once he meets it. no! so be confident, what u need is just time. moreover u just worked 40days, so less!!! be easy!
maybe u can ask your higher colleages if there are sth u can do. be active!
Come on! don't be so upset! just do it and keep on! u can get it!!!

Thanks for your kind words.
I'm not very sad and pessimistic, I just think that maybe I should change my mind a little. I just don't want to regard the so-called "new comer" as excuses, I don't want to take evething for granted just because I'm a new comer! Just like what you've said, I should be more active.
Thanks!

being an intern is a apportunity to see and learn more useful things, and to strengthen yourself, that's a good opening,so don't care other ones, then you'll be a bright and flashy one.
