Something to write

It has been two years since I updated my last blog here. At that time, I was a sophomore student who was preparing the TOEFL test and boggled at the idea of studying abroad. But now, I am a Senior year dog working in an IT company as an intern who have almost done the application things and waiting for the messages from the universities. And by the way, I passed the TOEFL and GRE exams.
I turned to the website again because when I was writing the PS(personal statement) or some other required articles, I feel extremely upset and I do not want to write it at all. I finally finished all the articles needed with much pain which reminded me of the days when I was required to write the articles at the Chinese class in my primary school. It is the same pain, the same reluctance and maybe the same solution, I wish. Much practice leads to the fluency.
So I decided to write something in English after finishing my applications. What to write about? The politics? The economy? Or the sports? I may not write about them well in Chinese, let alone in English. So write something I am familiar with. What's that? The things that I am familiar with the most. That is me. Why not to write something about the my college life when most of it has already gone? That is a good idea!
Meanwhile it would also be a huge work for me and I have no idea whether I can finish it elegantly but I would like to give it a shot.
Therefore, this blog is viewed as the preface of a string of blogs that would be written and the declaration of my resolution. Happy writing!

- According to what you have writeen here, your English writing ability is quite strong. Actually it is quite strange to me when I come across people who can write well but have problems in spoken English. In my country Britain, almost everyone can speak English fluently, but not every one can write properly, therefore, it is just the opposite of that in China.
Don't worry about your oral English. When you can write well, it is not too hard to speak fluently. All you need is practice.
Don't be concerned about the topic of your blog. Anything you write would be interesting to other readers. You can write about what you happened today, even if it is mundane or routine things. You can write about things happy or unhappy at work, family things, your present and future. Your thoughts about the place you live in is also fine. Just anything would do, so just tap of the keyboard and tell whatever you want. Friends here would respond to you with their comments. Get going, my friend.

When you say that you are wondering why people here can write English well but sometimes have trouble speaking English, I think it may have something to do with the Chinese culture and the current education system.
