I got up early in the next day and went to the bus stop. I had never seen so many buses in a single bus stop, even in the busiest bus stop in Nanjing. That is Beijing! We got on a bus and arrived in my university soon.
That is my university, the place I was gonna spent my at least 3 years in because in the first year I would stay in another campus in the suburb. I saw the Mao's large statue in the central of the campus square waving his hands to us. It is interesting and give people the solemn feeling that you are in the capital of the People's Republic of China. During the next few years, I had been to many other universities in Beijing, many of which have their own Mao's statue with distinct positions but all in a tenacious and respectful manner.
The campus was on the rock at that day with so many new-comings with a happy face. I was one of them and I was happy too. Lots of people mean lots of queues. So I was running between the queues with different papers and stamps. I glanced over the people around when in the queue and found that the sex ratio is almost just as the same as heard 2:1, two boys versus one girl. It indicates that there is at least a half of my bros have to be single or find a girl outside our university as I thought to myself. Tough competition! At that time I believed a relationship at college time is a must but now I know that it is totally wrong. Too young too simple~
When I went through all the process with a tired body, it was almost 3 o'clock. My parents decide to visit the Olympic Park. So we went to the street to call a taxi. In another side of the street lies another famous university with the exactly opposite sex ratio to ours. I knew it and thought that maybe I can find a beautiful girl from there. Totally wrong again!
It is not far from my university to the Olympic Park. It is really amazing when the buildings you have already seen multiple times from the TV, appear right in front of your eyes. The national stadium and the water cube both are gorgeous. We took a lot of pictures there and they are all great memories.
In the evening, we went to the Quanjude at Wudaokou to enjoy the traditional Beijing Ducks. It was the first time I ate them and they were very unique and delicious. The ducks are just like the propaganda scripts described, fat but not greasy! But you will not enjoy that much during the following times when you get familiar with the taste. One small tip: Do not go to the Quanjude restaurant at Qianmen, it will blow all your money!
