Looking through the calendar, I suddenly realize that my Mum’s birthday is about to come. I remember when I was a child, my family celebrated every birthday for me, but I never ever remember theirs. It’s a shame. Then there comes the day of leaving home for college. Day after day, I gradually get used to living outside, arranging everything for myself. Maybe, because I have grown up, I began to call my Mum to say “I love you!”, “Happy birthday”, etc.
My Mum is a kind and gentle woman. Being an accountant, she is very busy from morning till night. As a working woman, she works diligently and efficiently. As a mother, she takes good care of me and gives me every comfort. I took it for granted that Mum were the woman who make dishes, appreciate your drawings and check your homework. I never consider these were luxuries, although they really are.
Now, I often look back the days I spent with my Mum when I bathed in her love. It is my Mum who told me that life is not savored in pre-measured increments, but in the sum of daily rituals and small pleasures we casually share with loved ones. Love, first and foremost, comes from the little things.
I will never forget the answer when I asked my Mum how she could bear the boring life of looking after me. She said that “You are a seed. I water it. I care for it. Then, you will grow into a beautiful flower. ”
This is my Mum. I will love her forever!
