Kids with Cameras is an organization. Which was founded by Zana Briski, a female photography.
In 1997, Briski went to Kolkata of India. She lived in a brothel and took photoes to record the lives of the women lived there. Soon she got to know with the women's children. When she found those children were interested the photography, she began to teach those children the art of photography and created the nonprofit organization Kids with Cameras.
She believed that the photography may change those children's lives in the poor areas. Those children gradually learned how to observe the society, found the beauty around their world and record them with cameras. Then Briski helped them exhibit those childrens photoes and sold the prints. With the money raised, most of the childrens can go to private schools now and get better education. Even there is one kid moved to the U.S. to go to school.
