Which Way to Go?

454 views. 2011-5-26 11:25 |

After the internship in overseas  marketing department of Media, I felt kind of disappointed about the specific job content. I like both English and marketing. However, I found skills of marketing couldn't be used. Robin, CEO of Baidu, once said " one should do both what he or she likes and what he or she excels in". Furthermore, the colleagues of Midea also advised me to seek for a better job.

So when coming back, I attended job fair and sent my resume on Internet. Finally, I had a chance from A.O.Simth water heater company. At the begining, I thought  both skills could be used in foreign companies or joint ventures. To my depression, for they face domestic market, English ability  is not highly required or used. Although, now I get the offer of a sales representative after four interviews, no excitement. To be honest, I was highly excited during the interviews. The reason is simple but abnomal. As I think interviews are full of challenges and I like challenge myself. Maybe I take the interview for the interview itself rather than the offer. A little crazy.

But what's my direction to the future? I should make a choice between them as I can't get both of them. So which one? However, I should calm down first and think about what I want to be in the future.

It is true that you should have a job which you can utilize your skills in  English and marketing. These two skills are in demand now and there are opportunities out there for you. You do not have a future in a ordinary job which cannot use your expertise. It does not matter and harmless if you keep seeking suitable jobs until you find your desired job. Good luck.

if you didn't like none of two , then finding another rather than forcing you to do what you  dislike .

Actually, many people would be disorientated when they haven't made a clear goal. Perhaps, ur company didn't require ur English skill at the moment, but only god knows what would happen in the future...And you probably will choose job-hopping someday if you find a well-paid position in other companies. Moveover, as what you mentioned in the blog, 'I like challenge'....So why don u just keep both in balance?
