There Is No Shortcut to Success

785 views. 2011-6-13 17:25

      Everyone desires to succeed, however, not everyone can get success. Why do some people fail while others can succeed? Do those successful people really smarter than those losers? I don't think so. I believe success belongs to those who are deligent, and more important, there is no shortcut to success.

      I never thought I could be a millionaire overnight, although sometimes I walked on the road, thinking why there is no money on the ground waiting me to pick them up. (Kidding) Haha. I never bought lottery ticket before, but now I find some people are addicted to lottery tickets, dreaming they can get 5 million, since then they might lead a carefree life. I do know some people have such dreams. They are addicted to the lottery, spending much money buying lottery tickets. Indeed, they get some money from the business, but the money they invest in is much more than they get. Why not just work hard? Not everyone can be so lucky to become an upstart overnight. Usually, those who win the lottery seldom pin their hopes on the lottey, totally different from those who are yearning to become rich suddenly. Sometimes it really depends on the luck.

      If people are eager to instant success and quick profits, it is likely they will be off the track. Another senior year. Millions of college graduates rush into the cities find job. As a novice, one is easily to be taken in. Every year, some college graduates are involved in pyramid sale, which is an illegal business activity in China. There is no denying certain people do make profits from pyramid sale, but they are the minority. More people lose the freedom and become slave of the boss. They cheat anyone who will swallow the sweet baits, including their own families, friends, classmates, which is creepy. How could conduct like that? They are totally brainwashed once they entered the illegal organiztion.

      The day I entered the university, my parents urge me again and again, take care and don't be involved in the pyramid sale. At first, I thought they worried too much, I am not a little girl now and can make a different distinction between right and wrong. After witnessing people I know go astray, I realize things were not as simple as I thought. I should understand what my parents care and think. Dreaming to become rich is nothing wrong, but we should make it in proper ways. One may fail although he/she is deligent, but those who don't work hard can never succeed. We must remember it in our minds, there is no shortcut to success.

sheena ,totally agree with your viewpoint about success.in fact,what's a real true success some different understanding and different definition to different person.but the common knowing is reaching one's purpose or goal in one's life value.some people always hope some quick way to reach their goal,some people always don't wanna put their hard efforts into their duties.some people always dream they  probably make the biggest success oneday in future,while can't bear the rough process,or they become  hesitate even retreat when they meet failure or difficulty.all people are eager for success,but not all  people can do the whole process leading to final success.whether shortcut or longcut  ,let us consider seriously.indeed.happy to you! wish your future success too! ,sheena.

When I was 14, my school had a writing competition about success.
I was required to write a short sentence. This is what I wrote;

"Today's efforts determines your tomorrow". (1st Prize)

I was asked by a friend how can he achieve success quickly. I said;
"Success is not a doorway, it's a staircase. Step by step."

I had a girlfriend before, she asked me why I work so hard for? My answer was:
"For your tomorrow, I give you my today".

Indeed there is no shortcut to success

Heihei, glad to know we have the same opinion towards success. Once I was lucky to have dinner with a billionaire, I listened to him carefully about what he said. He is really a successful man, totally different with those so-called successful men with beer belly. Starting from scratch, he thinks the most important element of success is perserverance. His wife also helps a lot on his career, a very optimistic aunt. Learn from those successful men and refuse daydreams.

Best wishes to you.~~Heihei..

Yes, college graduates, especially girls, should raise their vigilances. Nothing can be acheived without efforts.

Haha..No wonder you are successful now. You have a clear mind even in your teenage years. "Success is a staircase" makes sense. The answer you gave to  your ex-girlfriend is really  romantic, girls usually will be moved by such sweet words.

Your thoughts are always unique and great. I am so lucky to be your friend via this platform.

i like your phrases. esp this one: sucess is not a doorway, it's a staircase. Step by step. what philosophical thinking! totally agree.
i think it is important how you define success. does it mean that you have to make a lot of money or become world famous? or fancy cars or luxurious houses? we might never be happy if we set such goals. what is the point of achieving success if we can't live a normal happy life? i believe we all should have dreams in our heart, but sometimes we have to be realistic and content with the simple joys in life.

I agree with you. We should be content with what we have. To compare with others will  make ourselves stressful and always complain to the present life will disturb our peaceful life.

No pain no gain so goes an old saying. I am on your side. There is not shortcut to be success and I believe all the successes are through hard work. Why there are so may young people go to the pyramid sales group because they think they can be the rich in one night! I look down such people because they are losing our moral values and cheating their relatives their friends.
And I never buy a lottery ticket, because I know I am not so lucky. Once we had a discussion topic with my boss. The topic was what should you do if you got one US $billion by buying lottery tickets. Some said they should buy a big house and a fancy car others said they would travel around the world. The problem is after you satisfy all your want you will go into anther trouble like how to take care of your money and you don’t want to work to make a living anymore. This means you have no hope in the rest of your life. How dangerous to be a person without hope. I think such a thing is not a good thing to most ordinary people like you and me.
According to the old customs earning a lot of money without hardworking isn’t good luck. That is why after getting a big wealth some people go crazy. So remember working hard and being frugal!

Sorry for my late reply. Recently I seldom browse the blogs since I meet friends everyday, shopping, chatting, etc.
I totally agree with you. Those who are crazy about the pyramid sales believe they will be an upstart overnight. It is really horrible if one has such thoughts, so easy for them to go astray. As for money, enough money is OK, I think. Too much or too little will be a problem. Heihei. Have hope and live everyday to the fullest. Life is beautiful.
