A story about a drought duck

1594 views. 2012-2-7 16:58 |

I feel embarrassed because I have so much to say but I cannot figure out how to begin the writing and even cannot think out a proper title. Anyway, blame is mine. I will start my blog with something happened yesterday.
It is very cold these days in Hunan, and what't worse, it rains a lot. Yesterday was Lantern Festival, and my father's birthday was the day before. After we celebrated my father's birthday, Ruis and I decided to go back to his home to spend the Lantern Festival together with his families. My parents asked me to bring the drought duck to his home which was given by one of our relatives . They didn't kill the duck and kept feeding it because it tastes better if the duck is fresh. I agreed with them, so yesterday morning I took a living duck with me to Changsha South Railway Station. We put our baggage through the X-ray machine as usual, however, the security personnel wanted me to give him the red bag when I was about to grab all my baggage to leave. I was wondering what's the matter and I gave it to him to check. I never come across such thing although I took CRH many times before. Well, it's the living duck's problem. He said it is not allowed to take living ducks or chickens to the CRH. The guy quickly put the duck beside his feet as if it was his. I said I didn't know there was such a rule and I had to take it away since my parents didn't kill it for a special purpose and it was supposed to be given away to someone. What the security said was annoying. Ruis and I felt at a loss, but we came to an agreement that we'd rather give the duck to strangers instead of that villain. That guy threatened me to give up taking the CRH and said you can go to take the train or bus. Oh please, it is Spring Rush now, OK? Anyway, I had to say the security personnel is a typical villain who has a swelled head although he just gets some small power. There is no doubt that there are many “officers" like him. They totally forget the aim of "serve the people", instead, they try their best to make use of the power to gain profits. Shame on them.
It would be a pity if we failed to take the living duck with us. Later Ruis advised me to butter up another security personnel who looks friendly. "I cannot help you to take the duck to the CRH since it is the rule but you can ask the chef in the CRH canteen do you a favor to kill it." answered him. I thanked him and quickly ran to the canteen downstairs. Finally, I had the living duck killed and brought it on the CRH successfully.

Sheena1208: So I can tell that Hainan chicken is one of  your favorite food. I don't have the chance to taste it yet. I do dream to take a trip to Hainan in the n
I love to try different ethnic dishes from different provinces. Hainan got plenty of fruits and tasty dishes. You should go to Hainan for a visit when you can. Yes, there are tricksters and uncsrupulous touts, but so long as you don't join the tour groups, you can visit there cheaply and safely. Just book a cheap hotel and take a train or plane there. When you arrive, just take buses to the main attractions like Sanya, the beaches and downtown Haihou. You would be able to see a lot and enjoy it. Good luck.
