Jiangsu and Me
--The Great Changes in My Family
Jiangsu, as is well-known, is one of the largest and fastest-growing provinces in China. The wind of rapid development of China, which brings some drastic changes to our lives blows through everywhere in Jiangsu. These tremendous developments in recent years have strongly changed the life in my family.
When I was a little girl, it was inconvenient for people living in Jiangsu to travel. The transport at that time was not the same as nowadays. I went to primary school on foot, while my parents went to work by bikes. If we were going to the outskirts of tourism or visit some distant relatives, we always spent a lot of time on road. To make matters worse, happening to bad weather, we have been more tired and pained. At present, a large number of highways, subway lines, and elevated highroads have been built in a high quality, linking little villages to big cities. With the help of express train, what once took us three hours by train from Nanjing to Suzhou now takes only 45 minutes. In a word, the transportation nowadays has brought us great convenience of working and travelling.
It comes to me that, in the early 1990s, “Internet” was an alien word to the public. Most information we got came from television, newspaper or magazine. Thanks to the economic development, along with the physical roads being built in Jiangsu, many invisible roads are also coming into existence. We can order anything from groceries to airline ticket by clicking the mouse. A month ago, I became a member of bloggers, who populate personal favorites and comments in the blog sites. With my blog, I can chat with the people have the same interest to learn from them, broaden my vision and relieve my pressures. In brief, Internet has emerged as the centerpiece of the lives of people in Jiangsu.
I used to live in a crowd apartment with only one bedroom and one living room, and the way to my school was surrounded with farm field. The farmers were planting crops and vegetables in their fields in the morning, and while I was walking home, they were tidying their tools for ending the work of whole day. In recent years, however, large tracts of farmland were replaced by greenbelt, buildings or apartments. My family moved into a capacious apartment. Trees, lawns, sports facilities, supermarkets, etc., provide us with the comfortable and convenient surrounding environment. In short, the living standard of the people living in Jiangsu has been rising every year.
It goes without saying that Jiangsu, an affluent and resourceful province, has being undergone the enormous development offering decent lives for us. Being proud of my hometown, Jiangsu, I am determined to devote what I learnt to the further development of it.( written on the dioenglish blog,I hope to save.Because that game is my unforgettable memory.
