i took this picture from my magzine. this woman is a chinese girl, her english name is violet. she is ZhouShouJuan(周瘦鹃)'s first love. her family was very rich at that time. Zhou wrote a letter to woo her. and she responded. they kept their relationship for about six years. most of the time they just communicated by letters. but her family didn't let her to marry him because Zhou's family was not so rich. so she married a rich man she didnt love. And she didn't have sex with her newly-married husband for a year to protect her love to Zhou. But Zhou didn't know. he got married too. She was reduced to despair. At last, Violet went to Nanjing to work, because she didn't want her no-love-marriage. A couple years later, Zhou's wife passed away, so he want to mary Violet. To his surprise, she refused. She said love is young or never. --'i will be with you In the afterlife'.
