Rail Ministry expands on line ticket sales

400 views. 2011-11-22 20:42 |

The world's largest online population, a rapid developing ecommerce sector and a massive rail network, these three things are connected recently. The rail ministry launched a web site www.12306.cn to sell tickets on certain high-speed routes. People will not queue up at traion stations or ticket offices with sometimes massive crowds, or puttting themself at the mercy of scalpers.  The ministry said it will establish barrier-free sales windows in major stations to ease access for the disabled by the year'end. If the ministry can manage to reduce the pain of heading home for the holidays, it will mark much-needed piece of good news for the beleaguered ministry, which has been battled this year by corruption, funding issues and safety scandals.

The train ticket is always rarer than diamond. I was so painful on obtaining a ticket every year, even thrice the original price, still hard to obtain it.
