Yesterday ,i read a passage .It is a investigation about the four greastes invention on students. I was surprised when i saw the result ,4% do not know anyone at all , 42% know some of them , 54% know all. Almost half of students answer wrong. I remembered i studied the four greastes invention in primary,i can give the full answer. compass, gunpoweder,
printing, papermaking.However,the morden students do not answer correctly. To some extent, i feel worried about the phenomenon.
Now, the english is becoming more and more important with globlalization develop, most of students pay more energy and money on studying english.They spend two hours even more on english, some believe it is easy and more compete to find a job ,some study english for go aborad.
To be frankly i think so, we also spend about two hours on learning english everyday,i have not more time on our mother language. I feel that my mother language level was improved in high school ,after that it stops or only a little progress. I spend time on working ,entertainment, if still have free time i will study english, becasue i think my Chinese is already good,i do not need to study ,i can learn it from daily communication.So i seldom read Chinese classic ,history etc.Chinese is our traditional language, it has five thousands history,it includes wisdom and aroma.But we know a little, we put the english privilege than Chinese ,no one nation see another language more important than own mother language. The Chinese is tree trunk ,the english is branch. We should realize.

- May be it is a little over praise that China invented the Compass and paper because according to ancient history, compass and paper existed long before in western contries.
In fact, I am quite shameful that western countries have invented so many things and technology. China just took it, copied all of them directly and make profit for themselves. The only thing China did not copy was human rights.

- to be frank, i really don't know i should be glad or not to current so-called fashional thoughts among the youngers. please forgive my outspoken, in the current youngers, so many the most basic knowledge ,but so many students can't answer, they don't know our country's history, but remember the fashion stars so clearly and so high interesting. i think of a famous star coming from a dep mountain of Shanxi and he is famous with his higest man voice, he don't know our national flag!!! what a huge irony!! as a famous star, as a chinese, even as a common citizen, what he know else in his brain?? i always think a person's qulity depends on not his/her body looks,but his/her brain, the most diffience between different nations or different persons, not other else,but only the part above our neck. what can expect to a empty brain? what a mpty brain can achieve? lack knowledge ,lack thoughts, lose all value, to a person, to a country, to a nation, to anything.
