Is that Reach for What is Beyond One's Grasp?

What's the value of life? We chatted this topic with our boss while having our lunch at the canteen in noon. More of us consider the value of life is getting the good awards from our good promotion. As they say, as you sow, so shall you reap. We all want to get a good return from the boss make decisions for benefit of division.
It’s disappointed, our boss told us that not everyone can feel happy as go to the achievement on the top of pyramid, lots of people own the happiness not depends on the great achievement, they just like and enjoy the job, enjoy the procedure of what dealing with, and give us the information is just do your work well, and do not ask for the rewards. And she listed an example for us, one teacher who she knows well do like teaching, and do not like to promote him to a position of leadership. That means you all do not want to get more from your work, your task is just do well your work.
We objected our opinion to her, and state our comment, most of us show our successful to others with our successful and our wealth, for seek the good fortune, we can work under the huge pressure and bear needless duplication. In brief, we work hard just want for a good payback. If just like the boss ‘ s saying, seldom excellent person will upgrade as her subordinate staff . Though we work hard and do our best, the boss will not give us the equivalent return. As we want to improve our living standard greatly, we couldn’t stay at the company for a long time.
I decide to do my best in the company, learn more from my work, after accumulated enough experience to do more challengeable tasks, I will leave here and look for my good future.

- Hehe, I agree with you, we work hard as we want to get reward from it, but I also want to say, never just remember the reward, you should do your job best at first.

The history has proved by list the entertainment stars... they were work hard and high-pay. they always working hard at the cost of ignore the family. Hide the pain with the pretence of smile .
they couldn't be the one they wanna be
although they were rich of money , still poor of happiness.

No, I don't think so. As you gave the example, many popular stars work hard and get lots of money, but not all of them feel happier than those poor.
Generally speaking, if we can not get the rewards as same as we paid, or we paid as the same as the others, but the others get more than us. we will feel unfair. we will feel down. Do you think so?
