You may have the experience of visiting a jewelry store when you are on a sightseeing tour with the travelling agency. The tourists will be warmly welcome, respected and introduced to the kinds of jewelry. And some people can not resist the temptation of very low discount and the product in good looking. But in most  cases, people will finally find out the product is not worth the money they have paid-they are over charged.

The sales man/lady is very professional and skilled to promote their products to the tourists. They know what the tourists think and can always find a way to convince you. To tell a moving story is often used as a techique to conduct the deceit.

I am telling you the true story that happened to my family when we went to Beijing on this National Day holidays. The tourist guide took all the people to a jewelry store and the young ladies led us to a VIP room, comfortable sofa, water and cup are prepared for the guests. All of us know this is another shopping activity but at the very beginning the store lady does not mention any product but only talk with the guests on common things. She said we can take a break here and they only have businss with foreigners, and their boss likes making friends and will come to say hello to us in a moment and we just only give the boss  a big applaud.

A moment later the boss cames and started his show. He told us his wife just born a son for him yesterday and now still in the hospital, and he was happy to see us and hope all the people can give a best wish to his son, as a return he will give a gift to each person in this room. He talked a lot and I really envy his presentation skills and I see  some people start to trust him. He said he does not want to have business with us but he would like to show us arround the store. Soon we were brought to another room full of jade products. He began to introduce the knowledge of jade, what's trap and cheat, and how much kickback(回扣）the tourist guide will have. More people trusted him and got ready to buy something as a return to the hospitality of the boss. Of course they have a very low discount, one example one guy paid 999 for a jade product with original price 60,000. And many people did some shopping here.

When I went home , CCTV reported a similar story in Guilin, this time the boss said he just had twin babies. And everyday they tell the same stories and make big money. So I suggest we shall not buy any jade product when you go to the scenery spots. But it makes sense to busy some souvenir with a small money.
