This book presents a new approach to conquering the numerous challenges, problems, and failures that managers encounter at work, many of which are people related.
An important lesson identified in the book is that a manager must act as both the leader who provides direction for a team or company and as the coach who enables others to make the most of their skills, enabling the individual and the organization to succeed.
Leaders define the direction and guide others on the way. Coaches are enablers who help others make the best of themselves.
This book offers new insights and tools that will sharpen both your leadership and coaching skills. As a result, you will start looking at and dealing with everyday challenges and problems from a new perspective.
A seven-step framework to enhance problem-solving capabilities, examples and tips, and a survival kit for sinking managers will help managers improve their people skills and learn how to approach everyday issues from a positive perspective.
It seems the synopsis is attractive, but actually I have not read this book, The Solution Tango, I found this book when I wanted to search the English version for the McKensey documents "Seven Easy Steps to Bullet Proof Problem Solving". as the full name of the books is The Solution Tango, Seven Simple Steps to Solutions in Management: Solving Any Problem in Seven Easy Steps. and I believe I'll read this book if have the chance, even just for the synopsis, of course, I like free if possible.
I don't know why there are so many books like "Seven", and I believe it should be related to God created the world in seven days, just like many Chinese people think the number of 72 is mysterious as it's the times of the sky (9) and the earth (8).
Why I want to read this book? I believe I'm a good manager as I do think the competency of coach is the same important as that of leadership to a good team leader, and all my team members benefit from my coaching and they hope to get more, and I believe this book will be useful especially for the professional manger.
