Increasing the salary, a conversation with the boss

I am not contented with the current salary, so after a careful thinking, yesterday I find a chance to have a conversation with the boss.
In fact I do not know how I can persuade the boss to increase my salary, but when I sat down in front of our boss, I behaved very calmly and discreetly.
First I give my words said, "for so long a time in the company, I worked hard as I can, I devote myself to the company, I have no other tricks to the company, and I have always respect you(the boss)."
Then I continue, "but in this age of my own, the salary is really not enough for me for my every month's consumption, so I send you my application that give me more task to increase my salary."
The boss said, "so what works would you like to try?" I answered, "all kinds of works I can do, I can manage the net system, I can do the office stuff, I can give my service to the customer."
Haha... this time the boss can not deny me, but she said, "why didn't you speak it at first? do you know if you say you can manage the net system, we won't hire another one to do this job...."
After that, she also said, "you are not active to help others, you are not good at express yourself, you never show your achievement in front of the leaders, that's why we can't see you and your ablility, your potential ..."
In this case, I keep myself calm and replied, "this is only in the first, I will do my best of myself in the forward coming days."
Then, she begins to show herself as a boss, said many stuff, something is critical to me, something is praise to me, whatever the stuff is, she never yell at me.
In the end of the conversation, she said to me to have a good performance in the next month, she will associated with the manager of my department to give me more task to see my performance in order to see if I deserved to increase the salary.
That is the whole course of this conversation, I am glad I have courage and confidence to talk with the boss, and I will make myself of a good performace, I hope one month later, I can see my salary increasing. Yeah.

is rude and impolite. But in my opinion, it's effective and time- saving. Also we should pay attention to the person we communicate with, and find the suitable way to express without offending others.
