Where am I standing now?

Time is passing, I haven't changed my job yet for so many years. For one hand, I am afraid I can't find another job. For the other hand, I don't know how to find a satisfied job, and my parents also do not support me to change job. The reason I want to change my job, is mainly because the salary is low, what's more I can't learn any new skills there, I am wasting my time, doing the tiring work.
Maybe the wrong person is myself. I know I am not good at socialize with people, I am not good at express myself, I am not good at deal with relationships of people, and I am not good smoking and drinking or I never do that. I just like to be alone for most of the time, I just want to stay with my loved person, I just care the people that I cared about.
To some extent, I do not need much more money. But I have a dream, and it needs money to complete. Confronting my dream, I feel so depressed that I do not know where I am standing now. So many years have passed, the dream is still so far away from me, just as it is at the begining.
And that's why I want to change my job, but I have said, maybe the worng person is myself. Untill you stop repeating the old wrong thing, you will never make your goal done., and stoping the old way, maye it is the most hard part of life. I am intended to find a technology job without much sociality, and I don't know if I persist my own personality or change it into another new way.
In this small city, I am not satisfied. The big city is full of opportunities and chances, I hope I have the courage to go out, but I am afraid. Where should I go? What should I do? No friends, no path. However, untill you try something new, you will never get something new. I need a plan, a strategy that can take me to my destination.

- Your parents are probably right. My advice to you is not to change your present job now. It is not easy to find a good job nowadays. However, I have noted that you are an ambitious person and constantly seeking to improve your status and be more productive in work. That is good because to be successful, first you need to have foresight and willpower. You've got that.
Your interest in technology is fine because these are the best paying jobs and employment with multinational companies. However, these jobs require high qualifications which you may not have. Perhaps you can try for a suitable position. Try to apply for a IT job and get an idea of how much chance you have to enter this profession.
Have a clear mind and don't rush into decisions. Go step by step. Wish you the best.

- Do not feel that. The job hunting now is not so easy, surely, everyone can find a job to support life, while an idea position is that easy to to get. Now you feel confused and do not where you should go in next step. It is quite normal. We always find it hard to decide what the next step is.
The job you do now is for your living, though it is not good eough in your parents' eyes, so you have to keep it for the present moment. Next, you need to find and figure out what are your advantages which can give your chances to find a better job. The advantages are not just as if you are good at smoking or drinking, actually they are about your potential skills and ability to cope with things you are about to meet.
Opportunities are always for those parepared well guys. Make a plan, do it. Whatever you are gonna meet, you only need to think that you are who you are, never feel bad about yourself.

- Hey friend, how many years you have been in that company? Well, I just began my job in a small trading company. But I think if you really want to change a job, or to say in a frank manner, you do not have any advantages if you just leave the place where you are right now. Sunnyv & teadrinking have explained to you very well, make a preparation and go on with a well-prepared plan. That will help save a lot of stumbles. And I am too doing such a plan, keep learning and improve yourself with value. Hope that helps you.
