Heavy Rain, Crowded Bus, Traffic Jam

899 views. 2011-9-1 11:49 |Individual Classification:Life|

Heavy rain, crowded bus, traffic jam means one thing, late for work.
I opened my eyes at 4:00 this morning with no sense, and  looked out of the window sleepily, the sky was grey accompanying with heavy wind. Naturally, it must be rain now, because I had listened to the weather report in advance.

The wind is still strong and rain is inclined to the ground, no doubt that it's extremely to hold an umbrella, but we, all of us hasty to work, insist on our choice however. No time and no any more energy to think about, even forbid to take care of their wet shoes and clothes. Me, too. My shoes are full of water miserably , what a pity for my false decision to wear a pair of leather shoes. Because I've thought the rain maybe smaller on my way to work luckily, and on the other hand, I don't expect wet my feet in this season.

Unfortunately,  everything goes worse than my expectation, the rain became heavier and stronger at once. All we hope to escape from the awful rain to stay in the bus, while the scene shown before you and what should I forecast the worst is so many people, or can be described as a crowd of colorful umbrellas surrounded near the bus station.

No bus, I am sure! The bus stop is a final station, there isn't any shadow of one bus over 30 minutes for long time, moreover the traffic is so heavy that even block up to the station by most of private cars already. It's terrible and helpless. All of us looked around time to time to seek for a bus and talked to ourselves it must be late. My husband accompanied with me for some time and persuaded me not to wait any more and back home for better at last. Because he was worried about my body for wet clothes, cool weather and the despaired traffic.

I hesitated for a while, watching the types of facial expressions displayed on their faces, then turned slowly and reluctantly. At this time, seems some riots happened in the crowd, people began moving forward and restored spirit again. Yes, 3 or 4 buses dashed out of the deadlock successfully and were shown in front of us finally, they were winners, how difficult they were!  All stopped near the crowd carefully and opened the door, suddenly, no queue but crazy instead. I happened to close to the door, and the result you know, I was croweded into the bus, luckily one seat left.

The drive yelled something like hurry up and so on, then closed the door with bad temper, while he stopped the engine because he couldn't move a little at all, the traffic becoming gridlock a lot. All of us were trapped into the small  space, people close to the people and disable to breath freely, everything returned to quiet.

Buses climbed hard and one grandma besides me broke the quiet, "It's not necessary for young man nowadays to buy private cars, all they want to present their social status and not losing their faces, which lead to the heavy traffic jam! I support them to ride to work, economical and good for health, however we have no wide bicycle path in DL." Thinking about what her said, she is right, but we can't do anything but accept the truth merely.

I  stepped into the company at 8:40, later than usual as 7:55, but I was more lucky and fortune enough I think. And I was glad for my another determination to take pair of shoes for standby, and then I could deal with my personal issue, have my breakfast as soon as possible for the delaying.

By the way, what I want to say about the nice and wide rode rebuilt several days ago for the Beauty Cities Competitions recently. For this movement, I think the government must be spend lots of human and money on it. No doubt that roads become wider and blacker are wonderful and splendid for image of the city, even for the government. But a serious problem should not avoid for the capability of penetration is too bad than before.  Rainwater is accumulated on the road and forming a small river within minutes, let alone a heavier one. Then how can we do, rebuilt again? In fact, there is no any problem for the original road, except dirty maybe and good to penetration. Wider one is just wider for vehicle, but narrower for pedestrians. However, why don't the government learn lessons fromBeijing rainstorm happened
not long ago? We all are confused.

it seems many cities have the same problems. the government kept throwing money in roading--but the outcome is too petty to be noticed. what we found is that traffic is getting worse and worse!

Yes, you're right. There must be lots of troubles and problems in big cities, specially house, pollution and so on. DL is my hometown, it's just a city where I was born, attended school and living, and it's quiet and familiar.  But today, it's not quiet any longer because excessive publicity making for high housing price and so on.

That's true! An excellent government should pay much attentions to the civilian living and try their best to improve quality of life, which is significant but exterior projects I think.
