Background introduction: My bf bought a house without decoration several years ago. The house locates in the suburd, far from our work site. so we rent an appartment nearby and the house is empty.
Today, the neighbour, a young man, called by bf and said:"It's a pity that your house is empty, why don't you rent out?" my bf said:"it's not decorated, i might want to sell it. Besides, i live so far now." He said:"I can help to rent it out, you can give me a key and we share the money half and half." My bf refused him very gently and told it to me in the evening. I was so surprised:"What?? what was he thinking?? " He taught piano at home, so we guess he thought that our house was empty anyway, he keeps a key, if the house was rent out, he can share half money, if not, he can teach piano there. I ownder, what kind of woman will love this "clever" man? Doesn't he know there's a thing in the world named shame? What makes him think we choose him instead of the rent agents, if we want to rent the house?
I said to my bf:"if i were you, i won't refused. I would say: OK, i think it's a good idea. Please help me to rent it out, we won't ask for high rents, i think 2000 yuan is ok (the average rents in that area is about 800-1200 yuan), we must share half with you." My bf laughed for while.
Ok. I'm a mean woman, i just don't understand what's in his mind.

- Well, things are not that simple. Once you link to others and money is involved, it is likely to link to other problems as well. Renting the flat on your behalf is possibly the first step to take things out of your hand and control. Later, he find ways to swallow all your rent, may conspire with the tenants to cheat your rent or even worse things could happen. There are many things the middle-man can do. You may think the middle man is doing all this for the benefit of gaining half rent, but you have to depend on him too much, so why not rent it our directly when you are ready to do it. It is better to rent it out yourself through proper agents and get a reliable good tenant like most other house owners do.
Yes, you may think that receiving some money is better than nothing, but it could complicate everything. Now your BF is holding a clean title and vacant possession house which can be used in various productive ways later and it is a great investment. Why taint that just for some little income. Not worth the trouble.

- Yes, you are right. so we don't plan to rent it out, at least for now. and i won't do as he asked, i'm not an idiot. I just complain here. In my memory, just the old women without high quality can do this kind of things, which thinking about how to take a little advantage every day. I never thought a high-educated young man has the same habit. And what i said is also ironic. I mean, if a friend asked for this, i would say yes without hesitation, but who does he think he was? So funny

- This home means a shelter for you and him. It is not just a house. He wouldn't like renting the house maybe due to some reasons, but one thing is true: If I were him , I won't rent the house. Why, not the problem of money ,even if, I need money. For some reason, I wouldn't like to say.
Anyway, I hope that you will find a good solution to that event.

maybe you can rent the house to the man for him to teach children,and ask him to decorate himself.
