We're just going to ignore how long it's been since I've been here and jump right into the good stuff. Everyone agreed?
Motion passed.
Hokay. Sooo right now I'm at grad school! And it's free! (woooo!) Well, this part of it anyway. And I have only two classes I have to take for three weeks. Problem: They're from 1-8:30pm which sucks when it's summer time and, you know, you want to go out and do stuff with people. Like me, who hasn't been in this city for any extended to period of time for 5 years, I would prefer to have my classes in the morning and do stuff with my 朋友 (yes I do know more Chinese than that, believe me) in the evening. Right? What can you do.
It's been a week already, only 2 left!
I have an appointment with the French Consulate in Houston on July 18, incredibly excited about that. I have all of my information and everything! I know which lycée I'm going to be at, where I'm going to live in France, and everything. It's very very cool. And once I'm there I'll post all sorts of cool stuff about France, because this is a travel blog dang it and that's what I do.
Big plans for the fourth of July this weekend! (aka America's National Holiday) I have big important plans already, so huzzah to that and all. They're not definite, but I'm getting together with some friends and we're going to drink downtown in the heat of the awful awful Louisiana day until nighttime when the fireworks happen around 9ish. I might put pictures up here, haven't decided.
Ummmmmm let's see ... I have a project due Friday! I've got to design a little website, nothing too complicated, and I have to make it educational. Since I lived in Chengdu for awhile last fall/winter I decided that I would like to have information about culture in Chengdu/all of Sichuan provice on my website. So music, Sichuan opera (川剧), etc. If anyone has suggestions/knows a good place I can photos I would absolutely love to get your input! Really, please do tell me.
If you would like the link to my website, I can put it up here after it's finished on Friday.
Until then.
