i'm terrible sorry that i have forgoten to return the CD to you when i left shanghai in such a hurry,it not until yesterday did i found the cd in my personal baggage.had i been more carefull then .i wouldn't have commited such a silly mistake.i'm writting to extend my sincere apology to you.
i understant the CD is one of you favoriates,I would like to use express mail service to solve the problem.i hope you can accept my sincere apologize.

I'm terribly sorry that I have forgot to return the CD to you before I left Shanghai in a hurry. It wasn't until yesterday, when I was pawing through my luggage, I even knew it was there. Had I been more careful, I wouldn't have committed such a silly mistake. I'm writing to extend my sincere apology to you.
I understand this CD is one of your favorites. I would like to use express mail service to solve this problem. I hope you can accept my sincere apology.
Or you can write it like this:
Dear Bob,
I forgot to return your CD before I left Shanghai. I was in a hurry and wasn't aware of it till yesterday. I understand this CD is of high significance to you. So I'll mail it back, along with my sincerest apology.
Oh my! Am I a bit carried away?
