Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang are two very important elements of chinese culture and philosophy. If Tao is one, then Yin and Yang is two. One plus two you have three, and from there you have infinite number of things. Once you understand Yin and Yang, you will understand everything.
One doesn't understand Yin and Yang in a deep level is not qualified to be a chinese doctor, however our so called modern education system manufactured lots of this kind of doctors. Their attentions are on the trivial knowledge of the exterior techniques but not the root that suppporting them. Why one would discard the root and chase for the superficial flower? Because normal people can't see the root, what they see is the appearance of your performance, behold of this, fake doctors try to show off in front of you rather than cure your disease, by doing that they earn more money. One who try to dig into the root of chinese medicine would find out they should discard so many good things from the view of modern value, like the money, the fame and a easy life. So some choose to back out(like a case in my hometown, the children of a skilled chinese doctor simply give up the succession of their fathers technique for it's tough and won't earn them much money), some choose to fool people with their little trick. Now the true chinese doctor becomes lesser and lesser, those who really want to learn can't even find them.
Yin and Yang is very comprehensive a knowledge, one will never reach the point that they totally master it, however it's everywhere, you pay attention , you will learn day by day.
My room is in the northen side of the house, and there is a window facing the north, every morning I wake up, I find out there are moisture all over my window, but just on the left plane of my window glass, the right plane is clean. I am confused at the beginning, however I find out the left plane is the inside plane of the window, which means it's like 3 CM inside of the house. And that little different between the left plane and the right one make them the couple of Yin and Yang. During the night, the left plane is slightly higher in temperature to the right one, so when the cold air outside touch the plane, moisture comes out. Also in the morning when the warm air blows on the window, the inside plane is somehow protected by a thin layer of heat coat compared with the outside plane on the right, so the moisture tend to stay longer. Now you see how small a difference can contribute to a totally different result, that's the power of Yin and Yang. By knowing that, a simple man can be transformed into a chinese doctor who can cure a patient by poking with his little silver needle. And if you don't understand Yin and Yang, how splendid a performance you put on, you simply can't cure a patient.
