Here's a familiar version of the boy-meets-girl stituation.A young boy has at last plucked up courage to invite a dazzling young lady out to diner.She has accepted the invitation and he is overjored.He is determined to take her to a best restaurant near by,even if it means he will have to live on memories and hopes during the month to come.When they get to the restaurant,he discovers that this ethereal creature is on a diet.She mustn't eat this and that.Oh,but of course,she doesn't want to spoil his enjoyment.Let him by all means eat as much fattening as he wants:it is the surest way to an early grave.But,what's most tragic is that they never see each other again,as a consequence,they spend a truly memorable evening together.

- That trick never works. Suppose the girl was impressed, and agreed to meet this boy again. Where did he plan to take her? Another fancy restaurant that far more than he could afford? If the girl was simply impressed by the boy’s “money”, the game certainly would be over. If the girl was impressed by the boy himself, she also would not be pleased when she found that the boy actually couldn’t afford that kind of dinner. She would think, first: this guy likes to bluff, not the kind of person you can count on. Second, he doesn’t have any sense of money—terrible kind to have a relationship with. Third, he took her for another golden-digger and still asked her out---something must be wrong with this guy. Then, you can figure out the result

It certainly might have been the hypothesis what you mentioned above,but it also might not have been what you guessed,maybe just because the young lady was on diet which she feared that she would be affected.
I wonder how did you deal with it?
