30 Employees in my company lost job

Our company today sent letters to 30 employees telling them that they will lost their jobs from end of August because the business of our company is not good. Some of them have been working for over 10 years. Some of them rely on this job to pay their monthly house mortgage to the bank. Without the salary, they would lose their house too. Everyone is so afraid and worry.

- This is a sad news for the workers who received notifications of redundancy. Especially those workers with long services. However, we should learn a lesson from it. There are no secure jobs for lives, so everyone needs to improve ourselves in order to cope with some unexpected things happening and move on. Never ever to stop learning because knowledge and experiences are the only things that you can rely on.

- Thanks everyone for the good and warm advice. I must increase my knowledge and skills to protect myself if I lose my job. My company told me that they may move to other places or close down, so I may also lose my job soon. The job gives me good pay, promotion, rent, holidays and good bonus. I don't lose the job but I have no choice.

- I've survived from three rounds of the company's downsized. Now almost half of the employees have lost their jobs in my company. Some already find a new start, some haven't. And I can't say those who still stay (like me) are the lucky ones, because we are gradually losing our faith in the company----it's feel like staying in a sinking boat and we are just waiting for the last moment come.
