I have never realized it was a big obstruct that one speak with a little bit of local accent in daily life until I came to north where was the origin place mandarin from.Here, When I bought something beside the streets or in shops and asked how much ,the seller ,with friendly or unfriendly tone , usual or unusual look ,would ask me back “you are not northern people but from south of china ,right ?” I said “yes” .I felt puzzled whether everyone in north can tell people from north or from south ?

- I am not good at telling people from his or her accent. It's true sometimes local ventors just get more profits from prople our of their city from their accent. But learning more lanuguages and dialects benifts at lot to some extent

- but Jilin should belong to north instead of south,right? in our city, many northeast people too, they are honest and outspoken,hehe..

- Most of time I can tell . but It does not matter so much if your accent is not that much.hehe, Sometimes people speaking with a little accent sounds lovely and unique. :)
