Sand and stone

Hot 3559 views. 2015-4-24 14:35 | stone

The story goes that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote in the sand: "Today my best friend slapped me in the face." They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.

After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "Today my best friend saved my life."The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now you write on a stone. Why?"

The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us we should write it down in the sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in a stone where no wind can ever erase it."

Learn to write your hurts in the sand and to carve your benefits in the stone. It said that it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them. Cherish what we owned, and never let it go so easily.

A good example of expressing gratitude carving it permanently in stone. Personally, I never forget when somebody has done me a favor. I may remember it for a lifetime. A distant family relative did me quite a lot of favors and he was always there when I needed him. Anything he need from me, I would be happy to do it.

A good fable! But you can see there are always people who carve hatred in stones and  favors in sand.

In real life, we cannot expect others to help us, for they have their own problem to solve with, we have to cope with things by ourselves. But when we recieve good deeds by others, we will remember the deeds and broadcast them onto our friends; when we get bad treatments by others, we just let it go, never keep into our heart. If we keep it into our mind, we will get hatred, which will destroy other, even ourselves.
A gratitude mood can last forever.

Yeah indeed. What why do not us choose a gratitude mood to face all?
