I can always run into an old man on my way to work. He could catch my attention mainly due to two reasons. First, he is very special. Actually, he is a dwarf. Second, he can show up on the way almost every time when I go to work since I was assigned to a branch of our company half and one years ago. He is always there on the way, walking (limping?) along with a stick, no matter what weather it is.You can't shun him at all. I have seen him in the rain and in the snow, in the scoching sun and in bitter cold, of couse, and also in the wind. The worksite is not quite far away from my home, in that case , sometimes I would take the bus, and in another time I would go on foot. No matter how I get to work, I can see him come up there. I have to take notice of him. He is very short, only about 1.2 metres in height. He is dark with wrinks covering over his face, A stick companies him all the time. He's wearing a straw hat. How strange he looks! As time went on I can't resist my curiosity about him, I just wonder what person he may be actually. A chance came to me in the end. One day,i n the morning I got up earlier than usual. "Walk to work. Take it as exercise!" I told myself. After 5 minutes' walk ,I heard someone shouted at me. "would you give me a little of your banana to have a tast, young man?" "What? er ~r" I was a bit stupefied for a while as I looked up and caught sight of the old man I often meet on the way, and came around very soon."OK.! OK! Here you are!" Though I do not think it is properly to ask food from others especially as an adult, I still handed one of the two bananas(The other one had been peeled and eaten some by me) ." I see you walk here by yourself for a long time. Why? Where are the other family members of yours? They ill-treat you, don't they?” He told me he was a peasant nearby. He used to stay with his wife, a dwarf, too. But she passed away last year at the age of 75. They had no children. Now that, there's nothing he cares about in the house or even in the world. He just spends his time walking on the way till Death came to him some day in the future. Perhaps that won't be far.
Everyone of us will get old. I don't know what we will be at that time. I don't know how much our government has prepared for that. I hate to live as that old man in the future.
