The day before yesterday whilst a journalist was on an assignment at the school, a group of elementary school principals in Northern California were also there to gain experiences from the school. Their schools are also planning to offer children learning chinese courses. Edward Park noted that since his school became famous as a result of its unique children learning chinese education, he has received many group visits from sister schools. "There are 250 million Chinese people learning English, but only 23 thousand Americans learn chinese language. Although the difference is great, there are, in fact more than just a few Chinese language learners."

The members of the Board of Trustees of Barnard School have voted for other subjects to be taught in Chinese from next year onwards and that 80% of the children learning chinese offered by the school will be taught in Chinese. The members of Board of Trustees made such a bold decision at the urgent request of parents. 38% of the children learning chinese in this school are Hispanic, 38% are Caucasian, 20% are African and the rest are of other minorities. There is only one Chinese student.

When the Counsellor for Education Affairs of China's Consulate General in Los Angeles Chen Zhunmin made a survey on the promotion of learn chinese language and culture in Southern California, some American educators told him, "If Hanban focuses on the promotion in Chinese American communities, it will be the icing on the cake. If Hanban gives priority to the predominantly white communities in terms of energy and financial resources, it will provide timely help!"
