Feeling proud to teach Chinese

The incumbent US ambassador to China Jon Huntsman was previously the governor of Utah. He likes China very much and speaks Chinese perfectly. He has been involved in the vigorous promotion of Chinese culture in Utah.As Edward Park explained, there were 53 mandarin for children classes founded in Utah within a year, "which created much of a stir in the USA."

Edward Park is famous for promoting mandarin for children in San Diego. Many Koreans in San Diego have asked him why he did not choose to promote Korean language. He replied honestly, "Chinese culture is at the heart of East Asian culture: it is the essence of East Asian culture. The effective promotion of Chinese culture will benefit neighboring cultures in Korea and Japan." This Korean has received invitations to China four times within a year as a result of his outstanding achievements in schooling and for endeavoring to improve his own Chinese proficiency. Mao Ronghui, a mandarin for childrenChinese language teacher of Barnard School has been in the USA for twenty years. When initially choosing a major in the USA, she chose Education Science whilst her schoolmates and friends all chose those majors conducive to finding a job, such as finance, computer science, accounting and biochemistry etc. After graduation, this Hangzhou girl worked as an English teacher in America, teaching non-native English speakers. Nine years ago, she found a job teaching Chinese and English in Northern California's Silicon Valley. Three years ago, she was moving from Silicon Valley to San Diego for family reasons when she happened to learn a school was recruiting kids chinese teacher. This was the beginning of her work as a kids chinese teacher.

Teaching mandarin for children is a unique feature of Barnard School, and Ms Mao cherishes this task a great deal, devoting herself to development of the Chinese language teaching methods and adaptation of kids chinese teaching materials. "This is a heavy responsibility."
