Today i knew from my sister that my dear grandma was past away the day before yesterday. When i heard this unfortunate news via phone, i couldn't help crying. I'm so sad that i'm not there, i'm so sad that i didn't see her last look, i'm so sad that my dear grandma left us.

  Grandma was born in year 1931, zodiac is sheep, her name is Ma Lixiu, passed away at a high age 82 years old. I thought of my grandpa, i'm sorry that i didn't know the name of my grandpa, even i didn't know what he looked like, grandpa died at an early age, that even my father was a child. People all say that she is a blessed person, she chosed a good day to leave. She was such a reasonable and straightforward person that she brought no troubles and problems to her descendants. On her deathbed, her sons and daughter were there with her. What they talked about and spoke, grandma knew clearly. Aunty tried her best to listen what grandma talked in a brokenly way, but still couldn't get what her meanings that made grandma unhappy and scolded aunty to listen carefully. She said goodbye to the world in a peaceful way, died at 6 p.m on May 10th. It is said that our govenment tried to "cherish" the land resource, so they advocate cremation. This time, we decided to follow our traditonal way--burial in the ground, but stealthily, or we would be stopped. Grandma was buried nearby grandpa's tomb. Everything was so quietly, grandma left quiet, no funeral was held, just accompanied by her descendants and some fellow countrymen, and a few sounds of firecrackers in the morning about 2 o'clock, no disturbed others. Maybe she will be forgotten soon, but she will live in my heart.

  Old generation people have many virtues that worth to learn. They are kind, laborious, simple and unadorned. My gradma had never went to school, but she can count and calculate. She seldom used money, she'd better keep it or hand it out as a red packet that made me doubt if she could use RMB to buy herself clothes and something like that. In a word, i seldom see her use money. Often my anuty buys clothes and daily articles to her. In my mind, grandma was a strong and laborious person. She had three sons and one daughter. With her husband dying at a young age, she as a female raised her children by her own. My grandma had a healthy body that she seldom fall in sick. At that time lacking clothes and food, they still live peaceful and healthy, look at our new age, full of meat, sea food, delicious food and milk, we often get weak and live shorter than our ancestors, what an ironic thing!  

  When i was a kid, when summer came, old people often liked to enjoy the cool in a spacious place or drop around, especially in a shining bright moon night. We kids liked to listen to their talking, especially listen to their stories. Sometimes we begged them to tell stories. We loved to listen to their jokes, ghost  stories and stories about fools and stupid person and legends about heroes and great person and famous person. Somtimes they talked about other ordinary people. I love the stories told by my grandma, they made me happy and had a happy childhood also, though i couldn't remember all the stories now.

  Grandma have a good appetite, it means she can eat a lot. Two big bowls of rice every meal is no problem for her, that makes her able to work for a long time. Grandma loves flowers. Once i heard that she had planted some Chinese rose in my uncle's yard, then my uncle didn't care about them too much, later they all died, made grandma sorrow for a long time. Another thing was, there had a peony tree grew nearby a water stream at the back of our house, when it's time to blossom, the big pink and red peonys covered the whole tree, very very beautiful. While another villager reclaimed this small land and dug out this flower tree for making room for his economy. That made my grandma unhappy and muttering for some days.

  Grandma had the tought of son preference, that made her demanded her daughter-in-law a lot, but the lucky thing is, not that serious. She changed a lot with the times. She can smoke, if you give her cigarette, she will receive due to etiquette in her eyes. But at the most times, she doesn't smoke. That's good, you know, three sons of her didn't have the habit of smoking.
  Grandma admired Chairman Mao very much, though she was old, we'd like to recite some recorded utterance of Chairman Mao. In her eyes, Chairman Mao is the closest person and greatest man in the world. She's like to receive MAO zedong thought and marxism-leninism. I nealry forget what these are, but i know that it's a kind of progressive ideas. Later, Christian thought came in our village, grandma accept it and began to believe in God. And i can see the changes happened to her. Before, she couldn't get along well with my mother, now she could make change to avoid conflicts and arguments. She chosed to forgive others, and forgive herself also. It works, that's good.

  Grandma is a person good at doing housework. She is industrious. Everyday she makes her bed and sweep the floor and do some cleaning. But sometimes i heard her say that, she was tried of washing bowls.

  Grandma had experienced a lot things in her life. I miss her, when she talked with us and suddenly burst into laughters, i miss her stories told by her, i miss when i was staying with her. What i know deeply is, a mother's love for his child is endless. Even my father is not a young man, i can see it in the daily life, my grandma cares about him very much, even love him more than me do. That shocked me. How great mother's love is!

  Grandma is no longer existing in the wrold. Her life is an ordinary one, simple and hard. I don't know what will happen in my life, but i know that, i choose to live a kind one. Try to live a wise life and do no harm to myself and others.
