free of complaint

708 views. 2011-10-24 21:36

Nowadadys I find I become more and more addcited to complain about something. Yes, it's certain that in China there are so many things  at present to be complained about, such as high price of daily necessities and houses in particular , inequity in many areas,  backwardness of political system, goverment corruption and so on.
So I read articles on that topics, I will feel uneasy and prefer to talk with my friends to express my inner anger and dissatisfication. But after several weeks, I am unwilling to talk about such topics. I think such action is boring and meaningless.  Because I can not change it and it will make me superficial and fickle. Rather than complain about the goverment, I should do my job better and think of some ways to change it. Anger can not deal with the problems.

PS: Thank you for your advice and comments. If you can help me find errors, I can not thank you any more.

Both your habitual complaining and apathy is wrong. You have the right to complain and you should complain when there are reasons to do so. When there are reasons to complain and you fail to do so is being irresponsible. In other words, complain when you should and forgive when it is justified.

Good point!  There are times to complain and times to remain silent.  I used to like to write letters to newspapers.  They would sometimes publish them.  Now, I let other people do that.  If there is something to complain about, I find someone else will always do it!

You asked for help, so here's my suggestions.  Each group of words includes a change:

"Nowadays [or ""These days'] . . . I have become . . . addicted to complaining about things. . . . things we can complain about, such . . . particular, . . . on these topics, . . . I cannot thank you enough."

If you say, "I cannot thank you any more" it means you are worn out from thanking and you can't do it again.  I suggest, "I can't thank you enough.

You have your right to complain and it's good to do so in a society like this. Different voice helps the country make improvement. However always remember you can't change the whole thing at least in a short time, but you can begin from yourself and people around you. Try to do what's beneficial for all but not only ourself, teach your children to do so. Also take some time to relax and enjoy your life, haha, take care of ourself so we can do good things at ease.

The reality is not as perfect as we think.

Glad to note your support of my comments. However, it is undesirable to leave the burden of complaining to others when it is due. Exercise your right to complain when called for, otherwise, there would be no improvement in our society. Keep up your righteous attitude. Thanks. P.S. Ooops.. I just noticed  from your profile that your are a witer, editor, botanist and ecologist. Interesting and enviable occupation. Allow me to give you a "V" victory sign.

That is why you should exercise your right to complain and press for changes.

No complains is impossible, but habitual complains should be stoped, as the commenter above said people have right to properly complain for justice, which can improve our society by different voices, after all the socity is not perfect as we think. As for us, we should not let these complains influence on our happy life, try to improve ourselves continually, change what we can change....
