By destiny, Small Ball knew Big Fool by Internet. One day, when Big Fool was reading in his little room, suddenly there was a QQ request to be friend. Big Fool consented and then found it was Small Ball. Small Ball chatted with Big Fool in Japanese, at first, Big Fool thought it was Japanese. After several minutes, Big Fool just knew Small Ball was a student majored in Japanese. Some people just have prejudice on knowing friends by Internet. Big Fool didn’t think so. Yeah, you can know friends by the relationship of classmate, fellow villager, kin, colleague and also others’ introduction etc, then why can’t Internet be one member among them? The only difference is that all of them are conventional except Internet. Being good friends is the most important, the way of knowing each other really doesn’t matter.

  They had a common interest in Japanese and couldn’t find anyone to practice them. So they found each other to be Japanese partner for the lack of Japanese environment. Some people always complain their poor foreign language for the sake of the lack of language environment, which is just an excuse to console themselves. If you will, you can study any foreign language well in China. Small Ball proved it well by connecting everything in daily life with Japanese.

  One day during a summer vacation, Small Ball came to the city Big Fool worked in. Big Fool thought of the way through which they knew each other, so he didn’t want to ask Small Ball forwardly to meet. After all, Small Ball was a girl and had to be careful about her safety.

  When Small Ball was about to leave the city for home. She said to Big Fool, “Why can’t you ask for leave for even one day to accompany me to some places I’ve never been to?” Only then did Big Fool knew he just thought too much. So Big Fool asked Small Ball to go out together on Saturday.

  In the morning of the day, Big Fool had some business to do, so he had to finish it first. When he finished it, it was at noon. He called Small Ball, but Small Ball seemed to in sleep and needed more, so Big Fool decided to go back and not to disturb her. When Big Fool was on the bus to his residence. Small Ball gave him a message that she wanted to go to green world, but she didn’t know what’s green world and how to get there.

  So Big Fool told Small Ball to came to UT first. Because of the wrong bus, Universiade and long distance, when Big Fool came to XL, it was five o’clock. Really a pity. So they couldn’t go to any other place to play then. Big Fool was a little shamed, after all, it was the last day of Small Ball’s stay in the city.

  On the road to Sky Rainbow, Big Fool was really worried because his mobile phone was going to run out of power, so he had to turn off his mobile phone to save power. Whether or no, Small Ball didn’t answer Big Fool’s call. When Big Fool reached at Sky Rainbow, it was five o’clock, Big Fool was disappointed and thought probably Small Ball went away, however, he still sent Small Ball a message.

  Luckily, Small Ball said she was still waiting in the front of KFC. Big Fool didn’t knew Small Ball by the first sight because he never expected Small Ball to be so fashionable, but Small Ball recognized Big Fool by the first glance. Because Big Fool never met a girl so fashionable to be so industrious or a girl so industrious to be so fashionable.

  Now there was no choice because it was too late. So Big Fool decided to show Small Ball around the place he used to study because Small Ball was still a student and then had supper together for the first meeting. Even now it was only the setting sun, Small Ball still used parasol to protect her from tanning by the Sun and said it would need two years to recover by just one day’s sunburn. Big Fool suddenly found Small so funny a girl. The UT library was really big, Big Fool leaded Small Ball to the sea of books.

  Small Ball was a really vivid and lovely girl who could even make people with great depression happy. She know how to dress herself up well and played all kinds of lovely tricks. Big Fool felt she was much better than most of his dreary colleagues. Sometimes she was like a small impish girl, sometimes she was like an elegant lady, which could remind Big Fool the sentence “It is spring only when all the flowers are blooming”. 

  In the restaurant for supper, Small Ball wanted the dishes to be the hottest, which made Big Fool really scared. Yeah, she could eat spicy food, but her face was really smooth without the influence of acne. She even asked the waiter whether the dishes were delicious or not, Big Fool thought the answer was always yes for sure, but Small Ball answered seriously, “I can see the answer in his eyes within five seconds.” Ah, she wanted the answer out of eyes instead of mouth. She even knew psychics, Big Fool wondered.

  After supper, Small Ball insisted on paying for it. Big Fool was a little confused, Small Ball didn’t wanted to receive a call from him saying the roaming fee, but was so willing to pay for the dinner, but Big Fool didn’t want to understand it because he knew a song before ‘ Never guess what a girl thinks’.

  Then Big Fool accompanied Small Ball to the subway. It was really a shame Big Fool didn’t knew the subway station even the station was near his residence. Then Small Ball asked a Security with so sweet smile and voice about where the station was. The Security was happy to tell her and hence became high-spirited. This was the charisma of Small Ball. She could influence everyone just like sunshine in winter to make everyone warm.

  At the subway station, Big Fool was reluctant to say goodbye even though they’ve met each other only for half a day. Small Ball wavered her hand smiling, then left with the elevator. Being such a sunshine girl, surely she had a brilliant future because everyone around her would like her very much no matter where she was.

  Big Fool stood in the subway station in a daze for a while. On his road home, he cannot help laughing because Small Ball reminded him of a South Korean drama My Girl. He also found walking in the light of street lamps and enjoying summer evening breeze wasn’t a bad thing. Maybe he would take a walk along the lonely street when he was tired of reading books.

  Wish Small Ball happy every day, Big Fool said to himself and then went to his room to continue his studying. When Lu Xun was tired of studying, he would look at the portrait of Mr Fujino to inspire himself. Now when Big Fool closes his book and the image of Small Ball will emerge before him, then he cheers up and continues to read his books under the snow-white reading lamp regardless of the world outside the window.

  Suddenly, he raises his head and see a train passing by out of the window, then he asks himself foolishly, “I don’t know whether the train is the train Small Ball takes? Silly bozo, what’re you thinking? Eat your books.”

  Take a shower, turn off the reading lamp, go to bed, and Big Fool just called it a day.
