It seems to be a normal word, but it needs all your life to do it. The first person of perseverance is Kuafu. He even paid his life for pursuing the Sun. Once you decide to do a thing, do you have the courage to pursue it all your life, even at the cost of your life?

  It was a sunny day yesterday, I didn’t want to go out. My friends were all able to enjoy life very much. They rode bicycles all around Shenzhen to enjoy the beautiful scenery of autumn. I didn’t have the heart to enjoy the beauty of Autumn, even though it was my favorite season. The sky was incredibly blue and clear. The sun was really warm like the hands of mother. The autumn breeze was really cool. I sat on the balcony and tried to read my American literature, which had two thousand pages. Most of them were about American Indians and American struggle for independence. Though I could read it without difficulty, I couldn’t enjoy them, probably because of the culture difference. I would rather read classical works of China. I just think whatever a book it is, just prefer to read things I love. Why read it? I love it. Why not read it? I hate it.

  After a while, I put the book down and sat in a daze. For most of my life, I was just neither study or play, just liked to sit in a daze. Originally I could see the scenery of green mountain and flourishing forest. Now a new tall building was erected right before my window. Time was just passing by my daze. For so many years, I just did nothing. What’s the use of regret? It would just quicken the flowing of time. I just need to try my best to do my things, after all, whether you’re happy or not, the world is still the world without being influenced by you at all.

  No one around me understood me, yeah, it was normal. I couldn’t understand myself either. I often felt an uncontrollable power inside my body to make myself really upset. Originally I thought I found some real friends, but they were all changed by the society and went with the stream of society.

  Maybe I could read biography of famous people to quiet my disturbing heart. Xu Wei wanted to watch the sea every time he was upset. I didn’t want to watch the sea, so I read biography of famous people instead. The invisible power in my body was just like a fire, if you could make full use of it, it could become an amazing drive, or else you would be destroyed by it. Sometimes I wished I were an idiot, but I wasn’t.

Of course, you couldn’t follow famous people’s road to success. Actually, there is no one who can follow other people’s road to success, but I find the spirit of perseverance is always the same for all successful people. The roads to success are very different, but the spirit of perseverance in successful people are the same. There is always a saying, “retire after winning merit” in Chinese. If you don’t win merit, how could you retire quietly? There are so many roads to success, you can’t say which one is better, the only you can do is to select your own road and walk to the end with perseverance, even at the cost of your life.
