The author Sun Wu was a really great militarist. King Wu liked to test his military skill and asked him to train his concubines as soldiers. Sun Wu gave his commands, but all concubines were only laughing and joking. So Sun Wu just said it was his fault not to give commands clearly and repeat again, but they behaved with the same way. Then Sun Wu wanted to execute the two team leaders for being not able to control their followers. Those two team leaders were most favorite of King Wu. King Wu came to plead for them, but Sun Wu used generals outside sometimes wouldn’t receive order from monarch as excuse to execute them. King Wu became very unhappy, but now all concubines became disciplined soldiers. Sun Wu then said, “Now they can fight according to Your Majesty’s order as brave soldiers.” The story shows that Sun Wu is a great militarist and also discipline is the first principle of military affairs.

  The Art of War is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy in the world. It has great influence on Eastern military thinking, business tactics and beyond. Strategy is not planning in the sense of working through an established list, but rather it requires quick and appropriate responses to changing conditions.

  A famous book is liable to be attacked. It is attacked by some people for its realistic approach to war. I think there is no need to attack it. It’s a military strategy book and the only purpose of war is to win. Just take martial arts for example, if you can’t defeat other people, please don’t talk too much nonsense such as so-called martial philosophy etc.
