While in childhood, I always liked to attract other people’s attention, but I wasn’t a whiz kid, so making prank seemed to be the only way.

I remembered one Spring Festival clearly. When I saw my grandpa Jin, I greeted him intimately, he was very happy and hastily gave candy for me to eat.  Then slowly I fished out a cigarette and gave it to him politely. Seeing he lighted the cigarette, I hastily run away, then suddenly heard a big noise of explosion by cracker. It was lucky my grandpa Jin wasn’t injured, though he didn’t blame me, my father criticized me heavily for an afternoon. I didn’t make prank since then, still I was proud of my masterpiece. I just thought then, how could I be so smart to think of an idea to bury a cracker in the cigarette with cut tobacco covered outside?

One’s nature can hardly be altered. During the summer vacation of my third grade of elementary school, I did my home work under the window. Feeling tired, I raised my head to look outside of the window for a break,  only discovered two children Fan and Mao were stealing my muskmelons. I stealthily walked near them and captured both of them. I let them wash muskmelons and then confiscated all of them.

I just ate muskmelons happily while both of them staring at me eating with drool. Finally, they couldn’t bear it and begged me to give them a small one. Suddenly my nature of prank was lighted and I didn’t want them to eat muskmelon so easily.

I proposed one condition, one glass of water per muskmelon. They were confused, so I explained to them in details: Drink a glass of water, you’ll get a muskmelon. Of course the glass wasn’t small.

Mao drank a glass of water and got a muskmelon. He was contented and finished the muskmelon happily. Fan also drank a glass of water and got a muskmelon, but he wasn’t contented. Fan drank again and again until he finished the fifth glass. I poked his belly gently, he even spit water without control. Fan even didn’t have the strength to carry the five muskmelons, so Mao carried them and accompanied Fan to his home.

An hour later, Mao came to tell me Fan was very ill, I was guilty and didn’t know what to do. Suddenly Fan’s mother appeared and abused me without stop, I just lowered my head without talking. “If my Fan has unexpected misfortune, I’ll let you lie in the coffin under him…” It really scared me to death, which was so horrible.

After two days, it was lucky Fan recovered. My father just let me think of it myself and didn’t blame me. I swore to myself and never make prank again until now.

Especially after I was teased by my classmate’s prank in junior middle school, I felt it was really harmful. When I bended over the railing to watch a basketball game, my classmate Wei walked behind me slinkingly. He put my two legs up to scare me, who knew his strength wasn’t enough to hold my legs. When I was about to fall from the railing, another classmate Xin was quick enough to pull me back, or else I’m not able to write here now. When I turned around to beat Wei, seeing his pale face, I stopped.  

So I told my niece never to make prank. There were a lot of things for you to do to attract other people’s attention, prank was definitely not one of them.
