Raise My Head, it’s Dark Outside

385 views. 2011-11-20 21:49

When I had breakfast this morning, I didn’t want to turn on my computer, so I read books instead. When I closed my book and found the sky outside of my window was even dark.

I read Gone With the Wind first and found Scarlet O’Hara was the only 3D girl there. She knew what she needed and had the courage to seek it, which was rare in the Southern states during civil war period. She knew how to attract men intently and rarely held her instinct. I found the language skill of Margret was really excellent. Her English language was 3D while mine was 2D. I was a little glad that I could enjoy the excellence of English language now and even tried to emulate fabulous sentences by myself. Since there was no other thing to console myself, I just treated it as an indicator of my English progress.

Maybe I had read it for several hours, I was a little bored. Because there were all trifles about daily life, spending several pages on a trifle, though the language was vivid, I was still a little bored and even felt a little sleepy. So I turned to the US history instead.

Since the book was wrote by white man, there wasn’t much talking about native American. The America was originally owned by native Americans before the colonist stepped on it. The history of United States before the declaration of independence was actually about the miserable destiny of native Americans and African slaves.

Survival of the fittest, which sounds a little cruel, but you can’t deny it. Native American was nearly destroyed by white colonist, which could be called miserable. So many animals were destroyed by native American, just thought about plume used for their hat, who would show sympathy on those animals? Being strong so that no one can defeat you is always the only way for survival.

The US history was very different from Chinese history. Our Chinese liked to use stratagem especially on compatriot, rarely thinking of exploring place outside of China. The colonist of America liked to explore new land and could bear simple and hard life of undeveloped land .

I've read it before, in Chinese version...Forget the name of her(Scarlet) daughter...I shared my tears when the little girl died...

Holding a book to enjoy the lesuire weekend. How nice. Sometimes through a nice book, our soul would be purified.

I have no other choice. I wish I could go outside to enjoy the beauty of autumn with someone.
