After his father died, Sun Ce served Yuan Shu. Yuan Shu admired him so much, saying, “suppose I had a son like Sun Ce, I would die without any regret.”

   Sun’s discipline was really strict. When one of his knights committed a crime and hid in Yuan Shu’s battalion, Sun Ce even killed him as usual.

Yuan Shu was a really mean person. He promised to let Sun Ce be satrap of Jiujiang, but broke his words twice. A man without keeping faith was nothing. Sun Ce was very disappointed and finally became his own boss.

Sun Ce was handsome and funny, easily to listen to different opinions and use people. When Cao Cao was engaged with Yuan Shao, Sun Ce was about to attack Xudu, but before his action, he was killed by hanger-on of Xu Gong while riding alone. He made the same mistake with his father. A leader must be very careful of his own safety, because he is liable to be attacked. Before his death, he bestowed his power to his brother Sun Quan, saying, “leading the army of Jiangdong, grasping combat opportunity between the encounter of two armies, fighting with heroes in the world, you’re inferior than me. Selecting and using virtuous and capable person so that they can try their best to protect Jiangdong, I’m inferior than you.” Sun Ce had a great insight on people. When he died in the night, he was only 26 years old. People were so different from each other. Sun Ce became a leud when he was only 26 years old. I’m merely nobody when I’m 26 years old now. Alas!!
