I met a difficult problem I couldn’t solve in time, so I had to go to the Science Park to ask the engineer of Realtek Mike for help.

I had waited for an hour before I met him. Mike was a very thin man with grizzly hair. He took an hour to research my problem and gave a clue and I suddenly found the solving method. Originally I called him big brother, after conversation with him for a while, he was several months younger than me and I was ashamed.

He probably earned 5,000 Yuan more than me per month, but I wasn’t envious. He was so thin and hair was even grizzly with a young age. Apparently his technology was at the cost of health and I didn’t want that. I admired his technology knowledge, but I didn’t want to achieve it by sacrificing  health.

Before I met him, I had given him several calls. His voice was weak and I guessed he must be a thin man without vigor. Now my guess was right. I would think of changing my job. I didn’t want to do software development anymore. I wanted to be a support engineer overseas and could earn more. I would practise my network product technology and English at the same time. Of course I had to be a support engineer on core router, switch, firewall, DSLAM etc, then I would have a nice future. About English, I had to comprehend Chinese culture and world culture as much as possible. Just took an India client last month for example, the guy was really gloomy. By accident, I knew he was the hardcore fan of Jackie Chan. He talked a lot of about movie of Jackie Chan, the salesman Tony couldn’t handle it. When the guy talked about Mystery, Tony didn’t know the meaning. Actually it was a movie of 2005 by Jackie Chan. After a happy conversation, the guy gave an order of 20,000, thought it was a small amount, how could you expect an India guy to order more?

This year was nearly over now. I would make a plan for 2012.
